Tarot Spread ~ Special New Moon

The best time to set intentions are during new moons!

Once a month, the Sun and moon align at the very same zodiac sign and degree, which is when the new moon occurs. The Sun lights up the moon’s back, leaving it nearly invisible from our vantage point.
You can then use that darkness to imagine the future you want to create and begin again.

New moons reset the monthly cycle. Astrologers view these occasions as prime opportunities for releasing the past and planting seeds for the future.
You might not see results manifest immediately during a new moon, but they are times when faith is required. The seeds you plant may already show tiny sprouts two weeks later when the next full moon comes around. The big harvest time? That generally comes six months later, when the corresponding full moon arrives (the full moon that is in the same zodiac sign as the new moon).

Each new moon day is therefore an ideal time to sit down with your tarot deck and seek guidance on how to better align your intentions and goals. Reflect on what you most desire and why.
Check in and make sure that what you think you want is really what you need. Our minds can often be clouded by outside influences, mundane practicalities, or a fearful ego. The cards can cut through all of that to help bring you back to divine energy, to your higher self. They are a vessel for your intuition and the Universe to communicate with you.

Here is a tarot spread I love to use during new moons:

1) Desire: This card represents your deepest desire or intention for manifestation during this lunar cycle. It symbolises what you truly want to bring into your life. Focus on this card to understand the core desire you wish to manifest.

2) Blockage: This card reveals any blockages or obstacles that might hinder your manifestation process. It provides insight into the challenges or limiting beliefs that need to be addressed or overcome. Pay attention to the message of this card as it sheds light on what is holding you back.

3) Action: This card signifies the action or steps you can take to align yourself with your desired manifestation. It offers guidance on the practical and proactive measures you can implement to support the realisation of your intention. Look for specific actions or changes suggested by this card.

4) Manifestation: This card represents the potential outcome or manifestation of your desire. It signifies the energy or result that you can expect if you align yourself with the previous cards. Interpret this card in light of your desire and the actions suggested to gain insights.

It’s also a great time for journalling, so here are some prompts to help you:

  • What are you hoping to accomplish this month?
  • What dream can you turn into an intention for the future?
  • If anything was possible, what would you do over the next 30 days?
