Jasmin Harsono x Hoj

We are so happy to have intuitive Guide: Jasmin Harsono Author of “Self Reiki”, which is part of our coming Spring Box! We have interviewed her.

Who are you, where are you from and where in the world are you now?

My name is Jasmin Harsono, I was born and raised in London. I am of Iranian, Italian and Welsh heritage. I am currently in New York but live in London. 

How often do you take some “me time” and how important it is for you?

Me time is essential for us all. I incorporate self check-ins a couple of times a day, making space to breathe and centre my body. I also block out days in my diary to ensure I have space to ground. This year my focus has been to experience more joy in my life. I have taken up rollerskating again, which I enjoyed in my childhood; it offers me a sense of excitement and freedom. 

What are your favourite wellbeing rituals to do at home?

My go to rituals help me to ground and centre in my heart. Upon waking before doing anything else, I pray and check-in mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. It allows me to breathe into my body, notice how I feel, and navigate the day with more ease and flow. I love to run myself a warm bath; in all weathers, I add bath salts and essential oils, light candles and play soothing sounds. I then give myself a self-reiki treatment. I gently breathe into my belly (hara) and then place my hands on my heart and rest there for 15-20 minutes or move to other areas of my body. It is a compassionate, calming and nourishing ritual. 

What are the benefits of your brand to a person’s wellbeing?

What does healing mean to you? And do you practice self-healing often?

The word healing has evolved for me over time. Healing means to make whole. We are spiritual beings living in human bodies. To be whole is to feel a sense of arriving home to all we are in the moment. Being whole is to remember our true self and nature. Our true nature shows us the way. Our body has four core layers the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual. When we bring our awareness to the whole, we feel every layer, we feel every part of ourselves; it is like we are completely naked. Healing brings our awareness to the parts of us that need support to find harmony and balance to navigate everyday life. Self Reiki shares different ways of healing all four layers.
